The Psychology of People and Machines
I feel like Norman's essay on the Psychology of People and Machines was a bit pessimistic. Yes, I can understand the concern that we are relying too much on technology to automatically do things for us, but that's what it's created for. We don't have to use it and as long as it's our choice, it's nothing to be afraid about: for example, the auto spellingcheck. While typing papers, is Norman suggesting we carry a dictionary on our desk as to make sure we are spelling words correctly? Some people just don't want to and that's their problem. If he doesn't want, he can always disable it and not use it. Especially with the button that allows you to pull up/down car windows. It's extremely inconvenient (and dangerous to new drivers) for drivers to roll windows with one hand as they're driving with the other. Why endanger yourself when you can do with a push of a button?

Annotated Blib
Annotated Blib
"Digital Comics | DC Comics." DC Comics. N.p., 2011. Web. 12 Apr. 2011
This article a clear incite on why DC comics want readers to turn to digital comics. It dates back to 2011 during the anticipated reboot of all its publications and its new endeavor to try and gain new readers. Although this article is mostly promotion, it offers quotations as to why the new and old fan base should turn to comixology.
The article only offers useful quotations, but not for explanations.
The article has many useful quotations, but doesn't offer much of explanations.“As e-readers and tablets continue to explode in popularity it’s important for us to offer consumers convenience and choice in how they download digital comics and graphic novels and these new distribution deals with the top three e-bookstores do just that,” said Jim Lee, co-publisher, DC Entertainment. “We’re very excited to work with Amazon, Apple and Barnes & Noble to bring bestselling DC Comics and Vertigo

Pearls before Breakfast
I was really surprised after this reading. I always suspected that talented musicians would easily be recognized and appreciated for their music. While I used to live in Florida, every year in Fantasy Fest, many street musicians performed on the sidewalks and earned a lot of money. My family and I would stop amongst a crowd, to listen to them play and donate some cash. I assumed that it would be more or less the same in the Northern states. Especially since Joshua Bell is such a high profiled classic musician.

Bad Interviews
Anne Hathaway "Catwoman" Interview
In this interview, Jerry Penacoli, 'Extra's' interviewer, asks the cast for the Dark Knight Rises movie questions about their characters and such. While Penacoli asks the lead star, Christian Bale, interesting questions, he has left the diet questions to supporting actress, Ann Hathaway. I felt the interview would have been less problematic, if he asked the stars equally good questions.

Community
I absolutely feel like any type of community will never accept you as a person unless you conform to the accepted behaviors/ideals/etc. I reflect on all the communities I was ever involved in and the members in it; from high school clubs to soup kitchens to online forums. It didn't really matter what group I was in: there was always a group mentality, even in communities that "welcome" diversity, you had to act a certain way before you truly belong. For example, during my tenure at in anime club in high school, there was a boy that acted differently then us and didn't really fit in. Yes, he liked the same shows we did and yes, he participated and contributed to the club like everyone else, but he acted out of place. Because of this, I felt a sort of social "bubble" around him, like you really couldn't talk to him the way you would to everyone else. All because he didn't act like us.
As we discussed in class, there are certain situations where being different is welcomed. Like BSU, for example. When you have students all come from different cultures and backgrounds, there's no possible way for you to instill a certain belief into every last one of them. So, students are accepted just is and will form mini communities upon sharing common ground. However, there are certain limits. You can't be racist, sexist, homophobic, killer, etc to be welcomed into the school (or anywhere else for that matter). That mentality will get you isolated real quick because it's for the sake of the community and to protect it's members.

Collage Problems- Pictures
I'm having some difficulty with finding the right pictures for my collage. Like, I have an idea what I want to do, but I'm not sure if the picture I have are right for it. I don't know whether this means I should change the topic of my collage to suit the pictures or just try to hunt for more pictures. I may even have to get my parents to post some family pictures on facebook if it's not successful. I'm using the Glogger for the collage only because I used it before and know how to make projects look aesthetically pleasing on the website.
