Alter Egos: Avatars and their creators

I identify with the stories of the creators and the story behind their video-game avatars. Especially with the story of Rebecca Glasure and why she uses a male, elf avatar in her City of Heroes rpg. Although when I used to play rpg blogs, I would play as a female, I understand not being taken seriously because of your gender. The groups I used to form parties with were relaxed and nice, so I didn't feel like I had to prove myself capable of doing assigned missions. However, personality-wise, I was more reserved while playing compared to myself in real life. Fortunately, I had the luck to not feel inadequate.
